Week 4: Going through changes

Last week we were focusing on encouraging kids for a more active lifestyle. Our first setback as a team occurred when we were asked to define the NEED. When asked to provide the need from a kid's perspective, we could not find a settling statement. At this point, we reached our first insight. We were forcing the team point of view on the subject.

That led us to the following questions:

· Why kids?

· Why active lifestyle?

First, we understood that kids might not be the best subject for us. We all love to help shape their future, yet maybe we can’t understand their world through their eyes. Second, as we heard from Prof. Anat Shoshani, Grit and persistence have a great influence on our well being and state of mind. As a team, we were intrigued by how to help one be more persistent, how to strengthen this grit muscle.

Since we already started researching sports, the connection between body and mind and how clear are the persistence difficulties during sport, we considered focusing on persistence in fitness – though opinions on this subject may still vary and we might deal with persistence as a whole.

We think we made a big step towards defining the need and it feels like our next step is refining it.

Keep on and keep it on,
